The opening and closing of the PTFE lined butterfly valve requires overcoming the deformation of PTFE, resulting in a greater torque; The PTFE lined ball valve operates under the clamping force of the valve seats at both ends during the opening and closing process. It has a larger opening and closing torque than the hemispherical valve, and the larger the nominal diameter, the more significant the difference in opening and closing torque. Secondly, in terms of the scope of application of valves, PTFE lined ball valves are suitable for liquids and gases without particle impurities. They have low fluid pressure loss, good sealing performance, and high cost. Their sealing relies on the valve seat being pressed against the spherical surface for a long time, and the sealing uses flexible materials, which are difficult to use in high-temperature and high-pressure pipelines; Compared to PTFE lined ball valves, PTFE lined butterfly valves have relatively poor sealing performance. Their sealing is mediated by PTFE and can be adjusted for continued use. During the opening and closing process of the valve stem and packing, the valve stem only needs to be rotated 90 °. When there are signs of leakage, a small amount of bolts on the packing cover can be tightened to achieve no leakage at the packing root. However, other valves are still barely used for small leaks and replaced for large leaks.
